The studio was founded in Como in 2008 by architects Christian Longa and Federico Schleret. They studied at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio (CH) with Mario Botta and Peter Zumthor (award-winner architect of the Pritzker Prize in 2009) and other international famous architects such as Valerio Olgiati, Josep Acebillio, Riccardo Blumer (award winner of the Compasso d'Oro in 1998) and Aires Mateus. Longa Schleret & Associates is an architectural design study that includes different types and scales of intervention in Italy and abroad, addressing the issue of transformation, relationship between innovation and tradition, between function and form, between "product" (in the broadest sense) and communication. Within a careful approach to the criteria of sustainable architecture, the office develops projects concerning urban planning, production, services, hospitality, residential, exhibition, design and graphics. The goal is to integrate architectural quality, environmental sustainability and a positive social impact, with careful evaluation and a precise control of the economics of each intervention.
MISSION
The main target of the study LONGA & SCHLERET ASSOCIATES is the most accurate and practical implementation of architectural projects, maintaining consistency with the existing environment and its structure. The selection of the most innovative materials and functional are the basis of our work. Our general and specific knowledge of architecture allow us to develop a wide range opportunities and implementation.
